In this site’s launch article, all those readers who had illustrations, information or anything they wanted to share about René Sterne and his work were invited to reach out to us with such materials for for them to be displayed on this site.
A few days ago we were contacted by Dominique Leonard, who provided us with a magnificent and previously unknown sketch of Olrik, drawn and signed by Sterne in 2005 and a key inspiration for a panel of The Curse of the Thiry Denarii. Below are both the sketch and the actual panel it later inspired, both kindly sent to us by Leonard, whom we deeply thank for that and reading us.
If you also have illustrations or anything on such a great artist, please feel free to email us by using the contact form at the top right of the screen!
Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the death of René Sterne, creator of the comic series Adler as well as cartoonist within the classic Belgian comic series Blake and Mortimer, the site STERNE ARCHIVES goes live.
In it, you can find the only online collection of all his sketches, inkings, cover projects, interviews, ex-libris and various illustrations previously spread throughout the Internet. If you have works by René Sterne that are not showcased here, please feel free to reach out to us by using the Contact form (top right of the screen) if you want them to be featured in this site.
STERNE ARCHIVES is not an official site or is in any way affiliated with Sterne’s editors or heirs. It is a site for all the admirers of such a great artist to enjoy exploring his impressive yet still not famous enough comic legacy.
Thank you for visiting.
